Art at the Point is located in the North of the island at Dennes Point. The gallery has become well known as an important attraction in the north of Bruny. Promoting and exhibiting local artists is part of its philosophy, as is exhibiting those with strong artistic links with the island. It has to be said, that the standart of art work on the island is of a high standard.
'Painting, printmaking, jewellery, textiles, glass, sculptures and woodwork are represented by artwork that is original and often unique with a strong reference to place as the artists respond directly to the beautiful island landscape, wildlife and history. A wide range of art cards produced by the artists is also available'
'The Gallery is located in the new contemparary wood and glass building At the Point, designed by John Wardle and Associates and built primarily by community volunteers. The project was funded by a grant from the Commonwealth Government and the Kingborough Council and contains not only the purpose designed Gallery, but also the wonderful Jetty Cafe and Produce Store'
From September the Gallery is open Friday to Monday, 10am to 4pm.
Art at the Point holds regular Exhibitions for the artists as well as workshops, demonstrations and children's art classes.
